Hi everyone! It’s been a while but I recently relaunched Thoughtplan. Apart from a complete rewrite, a prettier and faster UI, this release also includes a teams-feature so you can collaborate on thoughtplans!
Please try it out and let me know if you have any feedback. Log into your account here: https://app.thoughtplan.com

Adding pictures
Some of the things I'm coming up with require diagrams, tables, and sometimes photos. It would be nice to be able to have these directly in the thought.

Hey everyone. I’m happy to announce that the new version of Thoughtplan now has GitHub-style markdown task lists. I made a little video here: https://twitter.com/Thoughtplan/status/906914916493393920

Add markdown cheat sheet
Often requested, still looking for a good place to put it. An awesome suggestion was linking the "add MARKDOWN here", but there is still need for a link while editing or so.
19 votesMarkdown cheatsheet is now implemented. Hover over the “Formatting help” tab in edit mode to see it. Let me know what you think!

Need a folder hierarchy.
There should be an option for thoughts grouping. I have number of commercial product ideas as well as many ideas for personal development. I want to put all the product thoughts plans in a separate folder. It would be great if we could manage our thought plans in a more proper manner using folder hierarchy.

Better support for images
There's a great prototype by Paul for this here: http://opatut.de/test
I want to go in that direction, but I'm still open for other suggestions
Comment by Jan:
"It would be awesome to drag and drop images (or urls with .png/.jpg/etc suffix) to the markdown editor and then automatically have added ![](url) and setting the cursor to the []. You could upload the images automatically to imgur for example ^^"
12 votesYou can now upload images! Here is how it works: https://twitter.com/Thoughtplan/status/924050666540191744

Sort thought plans by drag and drop
It would be great to reorganize plans how I want them like you can with iPhone apps, by drag and drop.

Ask before deleting thoughts
Just like deleting thought plans. Or at least make it un-doable. Google has a great flowchart on how to design these kind of things:
http://developer.android.com/design/patterns/confirming-acknowledging.html
I accidentally deleted a thought of mine. And I don't even remember what it was :P
5 votesThis is now implemented. Check it out and let me know if it can still be improved! :)

More keyboard control/navigation
Being able to move up and down between sections using the arrow key.
Being able to finish editing without having to click - for example by pressing shift+enter
Being able to start a new section/ split section into two with Markdown itself. For example first level Markdown headings could automatically turn into ProductPan headings. Like I type #Foobar, press enter or shift enter and a new section appears on the left with Foobar as title.3 votesImplemented and documented, see:

toggling mode dont't jump to bottom
If you toggle to edit mode dont't jump to the bottom of that thought. As it is now, I always have to search for the sentence that I wanted to work on. It is very confusing that by toggling the mode, the font is different and also the screen jumps to the button --> no orientation.
3 votesThanks for submitting this issue Heike!
I recently relaunched Thoughtplan and paid some extra attention to your feedback. Thoughtplan now remembers your last editing position so it should be much easier to jump between edit and view-modes now.
Please let me know if you have any additional feedback. Thanks! :)

Apple-S overridden to avoid default browser save-dialog behavior
Coming from writing/editing in stand-alone apps on my Mac, my muscle-memory hits Apple-S every minute or so. In a browser this opens the save-file dialog which is of course not what I want (I want the document to be saved in your application)
Google Drive does this well, where hitting Apple-S triggers the internal saving.
1 voteCMD+S (CTRL+S on Windows) now syncs unsaved changes and suppresses save-file-dialog.

You can now print thought plans. The style for print is still experimental, so share your feedback, thanks! :)

strike through option for completed tasks
It would be great if we could put a line through completed tasks.
1 voteHey, thanks for posting here! :)
You can use markdown formatting to strike-through text: ~this text will be striked-through~
There is also a feature request for GitHub-style markdown-todo-lists: http://thoughtplan.uservoice.com/forums/264068-feature-requests/suggestions/6444358-github-style-markdown-todo-lists

Rename a thought
I can't seem to rename a thought. I have to delete it and make a new one
1 voteHey, you can actually rename a thought by double-clicking on it in the sidebar or by pressing® to rename the active thought.
I’m going to note that I need to improve usability on this. Thanks!
